Elad Halevy was born in 1975, raised and educated in Jerusalem. In 1993, Elad Joined the Israeli Defense Forces and served at the IAF Special Forces as a combatant, instructor and later section chief.
After completing his military service, he attended the Hebrew University in Jerusalem where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and in Political Science. He is married to Yaara and a proud father to Itamar.
Before joining the Jerusalem Municipality, Elad worked as Director of the Aquatic School at the Jerusalem YMCA, and head of Security team at the Jerusalem Municipal Campus.
In 2001, Elad began his career at the Jerusalem Municipality, first as an assistant to the Political Advisor to the Mayor and from 2005 as Deputy Political Advisor for International Affairs to the Mayor of Jerusalem. Elad worked for three Mayors: Ehud Olmert, Uri Lupolianski and currently Nir Barkat. In his capacity, Elad coordinates foreign visits to Jerusalem, liaison with international agencies, Embassies and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as other government bodies, coordinates the diplomatic correspondences and contacts of the city with foreign cities and contacts.
During his line of duty, Elad has headed several official delegations to various countries, including Iceland, France, Czech Republic, Georgia and Poland.
In addition to his main title, Elad is a member of the Municipal steering committees for “the 15 Forum for sustainability” and the “Jerusalem 2111″ projects. Elad is involved in various projects in the fields of culture, arts, tourism & pilgrimage, environment protection and sports.
Elad speaks fluent Hebrew and English and is able to follow conversations in French, Arabic and Italian.
At his leisure time, Elad is an award winning underwater photographer and has published several exhibitions.
